Han Chiang was born and raised in Taipei until moving to Lancaster Pennsylvania at age 13. After dropping out of Drexel University he toiled away for years delivering flowers for his mom’s flower shop Flower Meadow. At 28 years old he decided it was Do or Die. At his lowest moment Han had a vision and knowing he would do whatever it takes he begged his parents to help him open a restaurant featuring food from his fathers native Sichuan province. 99% of family and friends said “No, don’t do it” They did it!! Taking out mortgages and loans they scrounged up enough to open their first Han Dynasty at a humble strip mall in Exton, PA on Mother’s Day 2007. Word spread like wildfire of Han Dynasty’s fiery woks as they received immediate accolades and were named Top 50 Best of Philly restaurants their first year. In 2010 it was on to the big city with Han capturing Philadelphians mouths and stomachs as he sprouted up pepper pots all around Philly and the burbs from Old City, U City, to Manayunk and Cherry Hill. Next? DUH! NYC, baby. “Hold on. Slow down Han. The Big Apple don’t care about you none!”. Pshhhhh. *CHOMP! East Village. Upper West Side. Brooklyn. Times Square Bah ba badada.
